As I was brewing a cup of coffee for my husband and tea for me this morning, enjoying the lovely summer morning and the beautiful smell of lavender bushes that are blooming outside in the yard, the idea came into my head to brew not just a tea but also a coffee with lavender. My husband just loved it!

The next morning, I joined him and the taste as well as the feeling after the coffee – mmm magical…

Preparing lavender coffee at home is a very easy as making regular coffee, and any kind of coffee maker may be used. Here is the recipe: 

How to Make Lavender Coffee?

You can use either dried or fresh lavender flowers for this coffee recipe. Use slightly more fresh flowers than you would dried culinary.

People have different tastes when it comes to the strength of coffee – therefore, a number of lavender flowers depend on of how much you desire the Lavender flavor to be dominant in the finished brew.

It might take a few tests in order to find your perfect cup.

Lavender Coffee Recipe:

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lavender flowers or 1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers (again, the amount depends on your personal taste)
  • 7-9 cups boiling water (this coffee recipe is for a full pot – adjust if you are preparing less).

Place the Lavender flowers into a coffee filter together with the ground coffee in an electric coffee maker.
Brew as usual – enjoy the new flavor!

This coffee can be enjoyed with brown sugar, cream, and 1-2 drops of vanilla extract. Some of you may find the need to adjust the strength of the flavor in order to suit their personal tastes.
